Technology in rural communities
CEKC continues to work on advocating for the expansion of broadband services to Klickitat and Skamania County. Bridging this communications gap will help meet the growing needs of residents, students, employers and service providers who depend on fast and reliable access to the Internet even more than urban residents do.
The Broadband Planning Project conducted outreach to communities, businesses, and local service providers to increase awareness about the relevance of broadband, develop plans to expand access to high speed internet, and provide opportunities for community education to increase broadband adoption and use to support our strong, rural communities and businesses. The project focused on un-served and under-served areas in Klickitat and Skamania counties.
